Marsden Estate

Setting
This feels like a tropical garden surrounded by rural landscape. It’s spacious, beautifully proportioned and instantly soothing. After two decades of operation, owners Rod and Cindy MacIvor know how to make you feel welcome with wonderful hospitality – they’ll even put beanbags on the lawn on a sunny summer’s day so you can sit back and gaze at the pond and the vineyard.

Things to know
The MacIvors make the most of this beautiful Setting by holding regular concerts and performances, especially over summer. From small to large, and jazz to comedy, they keep it entertaining.

Our picks
The Black Rock Chardonnay is massively rich, showing stone fruit and vanillin oak flavours with a creamy mouthfeel. The richly flavoured tempranillo and velvety syrah are equally sumptuous.

Marsden Estate Restaurant
The well-thought-out menu covers all the bases, from platters and shared plates to a la carte dishes such as chargrilled pork rack on chorizo and bean cassoulet with butternut pumpkin and honey puree. You can enjoy your meal sitting on the terrace, underneath a vine-covered pergola.
