This boutique cellar door offers tastings by appointment only, meaning you’re guaranteed a very personal experience. Set in Bendigo, it’s a lovely spot to enjoy some excellent wines from the award-winning Mondillo portfolio.

US-born Domenic Mondillo is the grandson of Italian immigrants and Italian culture is very much steeped in this winery’s DNA. Domenic spent many years working as a chef, both in the US and in New Zealand, before deciding to turn his talents to wine in the early 1990s. He was instrumental in developing a number of Central Otago’s best vineyards, and together with wife Ally planted the Mondillo vineyard in 2001. Mondillo produces single-vineyard pinot noir, riesling and the late-harvest Nina dessert wine.
There’s a selection of older-vintage Mondillo wines available for purchase at the cellar door, as well as large format bottles (magnum and jeroboam) and beautiful gift boxes. You can also purchase Mondillo olive oil and grappa. Domenic was a founding member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.
