Auntsfield Estate

Setting
As you approach the cellar door, you are surrounded by vines, leading up the gentle slopes to your left, and spanning the great flat expanses to the right. The views are outstanding – craggy hills behind you; panoramic views of the vines in front.

Things To Know
When Graeme and Linda Cowley purchased the property in the late 90s, there were no grapes anywhere in the immediate vicinity. It wasn’t until some time later that Graeme discovered that Auntsfield was the site of the first vineyard in Marlborough, planted back in 1873. The couple, along with their sons Luc (winemaker) and Ben (viticulturist), have restored the property to replicate how it was laid out in the 1870s.

Our Picks
The single-vineyard sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir are beautiful wines.
