Bald Hills

The last of the small cluster of cellars on the Cairnmuir Road side of Bannockburn is Bald Hills, where an intimate and unique wine tasting experience is on offer.

After winding through the vines the drive will take you to the NZ residence of new owner Isao Mita for your tasting experience.

Knowledgeable staff will pour wines surrounded by the glorious gardens planted by Estelle and Blair Hunt. A chance to get up close and intimate with the vines may be on the cards.

Bald Hills wines are made by Peter Bartell with an impressive track record for producing trophy winning Pinots from the site. Complementing the Pinots are a flinty Riesling and an exuberant Pinot Gris recently rated 5 stars by Cuisine.

Plus After you leave Bald Hills, drive further along Cornish Point Rd, turn off on to Pigeon Rock Rd and follow the signposts to Alan Waters’ Art Gallery. Waters is regarded as a master of (you guessed it) watercolour painting and the gallery is open each afternoon from 1pm-5pm.
