Setting
Located between Hastings and Napier in Meeanee, near the banks of the Tutaekuri River, Brookfields winery has been around since the 1930s. With its pretty gardens, brick-lined tasting room, barrel hall and large manicured lawn, it’s clear why it’s such a popular spot for weddings and functions.

Owned by winemaker Peter Robertson since 1977, Brookfields specialises in small volumes of handcrafted wines produced from around eight different varieties.

The rich Bergman Chardonnay takes its name from the roses planted next to the winery and vineyard and the Sun-Dried Malbec offers meaty magic. Robertson’s Ohiti Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is consistently concentrated.
