Setting
This cellar door is an extension of the Glover family home, so it’s no surprise that your first contact could well be with the two family cats, enjoying the afternoon sun on one of the outdoor tables. Filled with a soundtrack of operatic music, the tasting room is where you can try the many interesting and unique wines produced by owner-winemaker Dave Glover.
Things To Know
Once you see Dave’s licence plate, Tannin, you know you are in for some big, bold wines not normally seen in Nelson, or elsewhere in the South Island for that matter. Shiraz (yes, not syrah), cabernet sauvignon and pinot noir, along with sauvignon blanc, riesling, and chardonnay make up the impressive portfolio.
Our Picks
There are two pinot noirs – both sourced from the home vineyard, but treated differently. Sample them both to compare.
