Setting
Roger the Labrador provides an enthusiastic welcome when you arrive here, as do the staff. Enter the cellar door and the first thing you will notice is the large painting that has gone on to become the company’s label – it’s the work of one of Milcrest’s owners, Christine Cook. There is also a wonderful video that shows the development of the vineyard. An outdoor courtyard is the perfect spot to graze on one of Milcrest’s platters.
Things To Know
This property was a boysenberry farm before Christine and Terry Milton turned it into a vineyard in 2006. Now it is home to six different varieties: sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, pinot noir, syrah, riesling and chardonnay.
Our Pick
The syrah is rich yet finely structured, with ripe plum flavours.
