Setting
Vines, olives and hops greet visitors to Riwaka River Estate, which is home to the artisan-produced Resurgence Wines. The furthest cellar door from Nelson city, it shouldn’t be overlooked. The drive there is stunning, and the homely tasting room, with its rustic outdoor seating area, offers the perfect spot to sit back and take in the view.
Things To Know
Set in a unique position at the base of the Abel Tasman National Park, everything about this family-owned winery is true to its own style, including its small-but-perfect production philosophy. Amber Robertson and Paul Miles have owned the estate for five years and have planted three varieties on the small vineyard: sauvignon blanc, pinot noir and chardonnay. They also produce Riwaka River Estate olive oil from the 400 trees on site.
Our Pick
Try a glass of the Resurgence Pinot Noir – it’s full of forest fruit and savoury aromas.
