Amisfield

Setting
Seen around the world when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited in April 2014, Amisfield is an essential stop in Central Otago. The roof of the striking, gabled schist building is supported by huge recycled timber beams. Windows on different sides look out to Coronet Peak, the Remarkables and the Crown Range. There’s a courtyard with a water feature for alfresco dining and an open fire inside for winter. Contemporary art from the Nadene Milne Gallery in Arrowtown is on display.

Things To Know
Amisfield’s wines are exemplary: dense, stylish pinot noir, a sauvignon blanc oozing exotic fruits, a vibrant pinot gris, and a couple of racy rieslings.

Our Picks
Compare two vintages of pinot noir, and try some of the whites.
