Hawkdun Rise

Setting
As you drive up the hill through the vineyard you’ll see a sign, “Sam crossing” with a picture of a hairy Maltese. Sam’s successor, Lulu, is likely to introduce herself by rolling over to have her tummy scratched. John and Suzanne Grant show their wine in their home or on their terrace overlooking the vines that march down the hill in neat rows with the Hawkdun Ranges in the distance.

Things To Know
The Grants make pinot noir and a small amount of gewurztraminer.

Our Picks
Taste both the wines: the spicy pinot noir and the fragrant, silky gewurztraminer.
