Miro Vineyard

Setting
This character-filled venue offers Catalan old-world charm mixed with an appealing menu that wouldn’t be out of place in the Mediterranean, and a delightful number of sherry options for good measure. Enjoy views of a gentle valley of vines below the hillside restaurant out to the Hauraki Gulf. And the magnificent Onetangi Beach is just a short drive away.

Things To Know
Musical events take place from time to time with both local and overseas performers. It’s a great venue, with acoustics as good as the food and wine.

Our Picks
Try the Miro Syrah, from the outstanding 2010 vintage, as well as the mouth-watering Loire Valley-style rosé made predominantly from merlot and cabernet franc grapes.

Casita Miro Restaurant
Casita Miro has received numerous accolades over the years, a number of which have been won by the exuberant co-owner Cat Vosper. If you can, go with a group so that you can order absolutely everything on the menu. Ingredients are mostly locally sourced (some are grown on the property) and the resulting dishes are simple yet boldly flavoured – ideal for sharing. The salted beetroot with yoghurt, lentils and dates comes highly recommended and the service is as engaging as the food and venue. Before your meal, a glass of the slightly fortified aperitif red Madame Rouge is essential.
