A great-value aperitif, perhaps with smoked-salmon blinis. Pinot gris enters the sparkling equation alongside chardonnay here. It has white peach, pear, honey and citrus on the nose, a touch of biscuity ferment character, and a zesty, linear palate of sustained flavour with a lingering creme brulee-accented finish.
