Stonecroft Gimblett Gravels Old Vine Chardonnay (Hawke’s Bay) 2019
Feels slightly corrupt on the nose – but in a good way – with hints of green spice which, as it turns out, work in perfect harmony with the stonefruit flavours on the palate. Great palate weight and a combination of acid and juiciness that was so profound head judge Ben came up with a new word to describe it “jucidity”.
