Coopers Creek SV Hawke’s Bay Syrah Chalk Ridge 2013

Yet to evolve beyond raw primary characters, this powerful young Hawke’s Bay syrah needs time to mellow and integrate. With just a dash of viognier co-fermented, this wine offers plentiful dark fruit and high-toned oak combined in a concentrated drop of deep, velvety mouthfeel. It’s all backed up by big, ripe tannins. Give it a few years in the cellar to develop then serve it alongside a roast rib of beef.
