Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2014
John Hancock and Warren Gibson work wonders with an assortment of grape varieties at this significant Hawke’s Bay winery. Syrah has a starring role. The 2014 is a fragrant, rich wine with plum and dark berry aromas, a light floral overlay, probably from viognier input, and lovely balance of ripe and savoury characters. It tastes complex with firm tannin extract underneath.
