Bird in Hand Nest Egg Shiraz 2012
From a cooler part of South Australia, this shiraz is one for the oak fans. Coconut and vanillin barrel-derived characters are at the fore, almost but not quite obscuring a superb core of ripe fruit. It’s mouth-coating, long and powerful with a sustained toasty finish. Serve it with chargrilled rump steak.
