Church Road McDonald Series Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Sauvignon

Church Road McDonald Series Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Sauvignon

This label remembers the late Tom McDonald, who made fine cabernet wine on this vineyard for six decades, starting in 1921. It’s a warm, powerful wine that smells seductively of redcurrants, ripe blackberries, mint and vanillin oak. It’s full flavoured and very firm in the mouth, with a substantial tannin structure that will soften with bottle age. A wine for robust dishes like red wine-braised lamb shanks.
