Grant Burge Icon Meshach Shiraz 2012 (Barossa Valley, SA)

It was Meshach Burge who tripped off the Burge family winemaking tradition back in 1865. This splendid Barossa shiraz is an appropriate salute. Purple-hued, intense, with exotic bayleaf scents, it is both bold and beautiful. A cascade of blueberry-infused fruit arrives parcelled in big, chalky tannins. It still has a fresh, youthful air and will reward cellaring. (C)
