The typically minty regional overtones that are a hallmark of McRae Wood are here aplenty. So too is a core of blackberry fruit, dressed in nutty-sweet American oak. It’s a polarising formula, but it works, and impressive depth of flavour and body, coupled to a firm tannic foundation, make it memorable.
