Terrace Edge Syrah 2016 (North Canterbury)
Syrah’s presence in North Canterbury is miniscule, but the Chapman family at Terrace Edge deserve plaudits for backing it. This expression is characterful and complex, with minerally, briny, olive tapenade flavours making the running. The tannins are soft and salty. It is European-like and very much a food wine.
