Villa Maria Reserve Syrah 2013

“Robust but generous,” is how John Belsham accurately summed up this 2013 syrah. It offers ripe boysenberry, liquorice and white pepper aromas, with oak a subliminal seasoning. A little less lush than the outstanding 2014 vintage, but no less impressive, it’s a flavoursome wine but elegant, with lovely persistence and supple background tannins.
